Mathematicians of Color Alliance

January 25-28 2018 ~ Ames, Iowa


The Mathematicians of Color Alliance (MOCA) will host the mathematics Solve-A-Thon. It will be a two-day thematic program that introduces students to problems from two areas of mathematics: discrete mathematics and applied mathematics. Students will be given the opportunity to interact with graduate students in the department as well as faculty menmbers. In addition, students will be exposed to research areas of the faculty. Participants will need to plan to arrive on January 25 and stay until January 28. More information about the two-day program can be found in Events.

MOCA is a group of minority graduate and undergraduate mathematic students whose goal is recruitment, retention. and mentoring of underrepresented students by creating a presence in the department, on campus, and around the nation.
