Zhijun Wu

I am a professor in the Department of Mathematics and a joint faculty member in the Graduate Program on Bioinformatics and Computational Biology (BCB) at Iowa State University.

I received my B.S. degree in computer science from Huazhong University of Science and Technology, China, in 1982 and Ph.D. degree in computational and applied mathematics from Rice University, United States, in 1991.

My current research interests are in distance geometry methods for protein structure determination, statistical analysis and assessment of protein structure and dynamics, and optimization and game theory models for evolution.

I have taught courses on numerical analysis (math561,562), continuous and discrete optimization (math565x,566x), and computational structural biology (bcb567). In this fall, I will also open an advanced course (math690v) on evolutionary game theory.
