- General
- (Aug. 14) I'm sorry about the network problems this afternoon. The server was
rather overwhelmed between about 2 and 4 pm this afternoon, and I was able to fix
the problem as soon as I was aware of it. If you were taking a proctored exam at
that time and you experienced enough problems so that you feel that your results
were substantially affected, please let me know as soon as possible.
- (Aug. 5) Note: Please do not take pretests or exams after the deadline
date unless you have received special permission from me. I sometimes have to leave
these exams turned on in order to accommodate students with special circumstances.
However, if you take a pretest or exam after the deadline date without permission,
I will eventually see it and change the score to 0. So it will just be a waste of
your time and mine. Thanks for your cooperation.
- (July 8) Several technical problems have been reportedwith the testing system.
Please refer to online testing notes for details,
and share the information given there with your exam proctor.

- (June 3) Welcome to the Extended Education sections of Math 141 and Math 142!
Math 142 begins on June 23, and Math 141 begins on July 7. Both courses end on August
15. To begin your course, follow the instructions on the Getting
Started page. Two items are of particular importance before you begin the course:
- Order your textbook as soon as possible.
- Begin making arrangements for an exam proctor (see the proctor
instructions for details).
- Math 141
- Trigonometry Exam
- (Aug. 3) Reminder: The Trigonometry Final Exam
must be completed by Friday August 15.
- You are allowed to take this exam twice (but only once per day).
- Remember that you will need a 2-hour block of time.
- Unit 6
- (Aug. 3) Reminder: Unit 6 must be completed
by Thursday August 14. Remember that you can
take as many pretests as you want to prepare for the proctored unit exams. In addition,
you may repeat a proctored unit exam up until the deadline date (but you can only
take it one time each day).
- Unit 5
- (Aug. 3) Reminder: Unit 5 must be completed
by Thursday August 14. Remember that you can
take as many pretests as you want to prepare for the proctored unit exams. In addition,
you may repeat a proctored unit exam up until the deadline date (but you can only
take it one time each day).
- Note that the Unit 6 deadline is also August 14.
- Unit 4
- (July 18) Reminder: Unit 4 must be completed
by Thursday July 31. Remember that you can take
as many pretests as you want to prepare for the proctored unit exams. In addition,
you may repeat a proctored unit exam up until the deadline date (but you can only
take it one time each day).
