Homework 1 (Due Friday Feb. 1): 1) p. 7 problem 1; 2) Prove Propositions 1.9 c) and 1.11 c); 3) Prove Prop. 1.13 (a) and (d); 4) Show by counterexample that Theorem 2.9 is false without the hypothesis that G is open; 5) p. 20 problem 7 (also prove that {x_n} is Cauchy whenever |x_n| goes to infinity.
