Research Interests

My general area of research is linear and multilinear algebra, with an emphasis on matrix analysis and applications. My Ph.D. thesis was on nonnegative matrices, associated group inverses and finite Markov chains. My current research interests also include generalized inverses (in particular, group inverses) and their digraph characterizations, extensions of the Perron-Frobenius theory to real matrices which may have negative entries and the use of primarily combinatorial methodology (but also graph-theoretic and analytic techniques) to study matrix-theoretic problems involving sign pattern matrices.
