GAP |
|
Gap is a system for computational group theory. Version 4, release 1, is available on Project Vincent and also on orion. The actual executable, and all supporting files, currently reside in /home/mathextra/gap, so you need to execute the commands add math and add mathextra first (or include the lines in your '.environment' file). To invoke, type "gap" at the shell prompt. Type 'quit;' to quit. There is a shell script called /home/math/bin/axp/gap that invokes the executable gap.exe. There are numerous supporting files and documentation (including an 850 page manual--please don't print the whole thing on our printer) in /home/mathextra/gap/doc. The manual is available in html form in /home/mathextra/gap/doc/htm/ and also via the link below. Direct questions to Cliff Bergman. Documentation |
