Equipment Checkout Policy

Reservations:

 

All equipment has to be reserved at least 24 hours in advance from Jon Roden, Computer Support Specialist, either by email (jonroden@iastate.edu) or phone (4-6608). Reservations are made to ensure equipment is available and ready. Reservations are on a first-come first-served basis.

 

Jon is available to teach you how to set up and test the equipment you will be using. If you think you will need help, please schedule a training session with him. He may not be available at the time you have your event.

 

Usage:

 

Projector reserves

For projectors and additional equipment outside of Carver Hall, contact Information Technology Services at 1200 Communications Building, 294-8026.

 

Classroom reserves

You need to call your Tina Thompson, 4-5338 to reserve a classroom.

 

If you be presenting at another university or at a conference, they should have equipment available for you if you make prior arrangements.

 

Responsibilities:

3. The department is not responsible for loss of personal files on laptops that are checked out.

 

Graduate Students:

Students are allowed to check out equipment for a maximum of four hours per day.

 

Faculty:

 

Faculty can check out equipment for a maximum of four hours per day.

 

Exception:

If traveling, you may check out for a maximum of two days before leaving and one day after returning. Please limit to no more than one week per usage. Requests to use equipment for a longer period should be made to the Math Computer Committee at ccom@math.iastate.edu.

 

Please return equipment in a timely manner so others in the department can use the equipment.
