Cheating on Exams

In case you have not paid any attention to the warnings about cheating on exams before: Math 150 is probably the class that turns in the largest number of students for cheating every semester. I think the record was 12 a couple of years ago.

In most semesters, we don't get any cheating cases until Quiz 4/Final Exam. This semester we already had 3 reported cases on Quiz 2. You are expected to know what the rules are.

Drop Slips

Just a reminder: any of the TAs can sign a drop slip. You don't need to hunt down Prof. Pan or Prof. Keinert.

Monday, October 19

Midterm Grades

Midterm grades have been posted in the WebCT gradebook. If there is a mistake, please contact Prof. Keinert.

Friday, October 16

Quiz 2 is due by Sunday

As usual you should plan to take the quiz during the week sometime, so that you get multiple tries and don't run into any last minute snags or long lines on Sunday.

Midterm Grades

Midterm grades have been posted in WebCT. Quiz 2 and Excel HW 2, as well as any later assignments, are not be counted in the midterm grades, even if you completed them already. Only assignments whose deadline has passed have been counted.

If there is a mistake, please contact Prof. Keinert. We won't send in any corrections for midterm grades, but we want to make sure everything is set up correctly for final grades.

Wednesday, October 7

Prof. Pan partially available

Prof. Jun Pan is still dealing with a personal emergency. She can handle requests by email now (such as deadline extensions), but she is only occasionally available in person.

If you just need a drop slip signed, you can ask any of the TAs to do that.

CourseCompass not available Sunday

According to the CourseCompass front page, the system will be offline for upgrades this Sunday, Oct 4. I don't know any details. I have extended the deadline for HW 4 to Monday.

From previous bad experience I know that every time they do something to CourseCompass, it quits working for some people. I also know from experience that every time it breaks it is because of some cookie problem. Play with your cookie settings if necessary.

Wednesday, September 30

Prof. Jun Pan unavailable

One of the course coordinators, Prof. Jun Pan, is out of town for a few days for personal reasons. She may or may not respond to email. In the meantime, please contact Prof. Keinert for all course coordinator matters.

Monday, September 21

Quiz 1 is due by Sunday

This week you need to take Quiz 1. Re-read the instructions on quiz taking, and make sure you start early enough so you have time for a second or third attempt.

Monday, September 14

Homework Deadline Approaching

So far we did not enforce the deadlines for homeworks, but by the end of this week (Sunday, Sep 20) you need to be done with HW 0-3.
