Assignment 14 (assigned 2/22, due 2/25)

Read the rest of section 3.5.  Do numbers 5, 8a,  and 10 (both a and b).

If you have difficulty with 5, try 3c first (and look at the hint in the back), but do not hand 3c in.  Your experience with 3c will help with 5.

Even if you do not get 10a, do 10b assuming that 10a is correct.  The proof is similar to the proof that the square root of two is irrational.  Be careful to show exactly how 10a is used in your proof.
