CyRide fleet list

Although the Orion V provides the mainstay of the CyRide bus fleet, with 18 standee versions acquired new, and several conventional units purchased used from Madison, WI and Iowa City, IA, there is unexpected diversity for an undertaking serving a population base of little more than 50,000. The list given here concentrates on the buses that have seen service in Ames over recent years. Most of the numbers link to illustrations.

Buses built before 2000 are unlikely to operate during the summer (mid-May to mid-August), or when ISU is not in session, except for special events and driver training.
