As many of you will be using Matlab (http://www.mathworks.com/) in your schooling and careers, I suggest that you download your free student copy and become familiar with it this summer. You can find instructions to install Matlab at http://www.it.iastate.edu/matlab/student/
You may also find it useful to use Sage, a free open-source alternative to several different pieces of math software. You can use Sage online at http://www.sagenb.org or download it from http://www.sagemath.org.
