Earning a Bachelor's degree in Mathematics involves weaving one's way through a gamut of confusing course requirements. Here is a check list of those requirements. The links will take you to a description of the requirement and a list of suitable courses. The Mathematics Department also maintains a formal list of requirements.

    1. Engl 150 and 250

    2. One of Engl 302, 305, 314 or JLMC 201 or Math 491

    3. Lib 160

  4. 1 year Foreign Language (e.g. French 101-102)

  5. General Education Requirements

    1. Group I: Arts and Humanities (12 credits)

    2. Group II:Natural Sciences (8 credits)
      Note: 8 credits from natural sciences. No credits from mathematical sciences

    3. Group III: Social Sciences (9 credits)

  6. Mathematics

    1. Math 165, 166, 201, 265, 266 or 267, 317, 301, 414

    2. Either Math 492 or C&I 480C

    3. One of: Math 302, 415, 436

    4. 15 credits of Math courses at 300+ level, not including those from a) or b)

  7. Overall Credit Requirements

    1. 120 credits

    2. 45 credits at 300+ level

    3. 32 credits earned at ISU
