Textbook

Varberg, Purcell, Rigdon, Calculus, 9th edition, or ISU unbound edition (no graphic available).

Some professors require MyMathLab. If you bought the textbook new, you should keep the MyMathLab Student Access Kit as long as you take calculus. If you buy a used book, you may have to buy the MyMathLab Student Access Kit separately.

Instructors: be aware that the Instructor's Resource Manual, with worked-out solutions to all problems in the textbook, is freely available on the internet and is widely distributed at ISU.

Syllabus

Each syllabus tells what sections will be covered in the textbook, and indicates the approximate time to be devoted to each topic. Individual instructors will adjust allotted times according to their own plans for homework and project assignments, quizzes, review and in-class exams.

Objectives

The objectives document tells what the student is to be able to do upon completion of the course. Departmental midterm and final exams will be designed to test the stated objectives.

Exams

Some departmental midterm and final exams from past semesters are kept on the Calculus Exams page.
