A Partial Filmography of Joe
What is it about the name "Joe"? Not quite as generic as "John"
or "Bob", but definitely the name of a good-natured, unassuming,
regular guy? We all love Joe Blow, Joe Sixpack, GI Joe, Smokin' Joe,
Shoeless Joe, Joe Doakes, - maybe even Joe Bob Briggs and Joe Isuzu.
And remember all those ghoulish articles in Reader's Digest about
"I am Joe's Liver" and his other parts? So when casting about for a
nonglamorous but not completely bland name for Everyman, Hollywood
knows how to appeal to the average Joe.
