Grading policy:
Exam and Quiz dates can be changed by the instructor with prior notice to the class. There will be no make-up exams except in the case of a medical or family emergency. each In-class Exams will be roughly 50 minutes. Quizzes will be on Tuesday of each week without an exam, a 10-minute quiz will be given. This portion of your course grade will be determined by your best quiz scores. There will be no make-ups, but the lowest 3 quiz scores will be dropped. Quiz problems may address anything covered from the previous Tuesday up to and including the previous Friday.
In addition, you may be assigned homework problems or projects. Calculators are allowed in the exams. For each exam, grade-lines will be given in class. Your overall grade will depend on the following point distribution:

700 points
Extra credit: at the end of the grading process, I may move a few
grades up by up to 5 points. These will be awarded based on some X
factors: for instance, homework, class room participation, or drastic
improvement over the course of the semester.
Translation from the percentage to the grade will be done according to
the following key:
A 91-100, A- 86-90, B+ 81-85, B 76-80, B- 71-75, C+ 66-70, C 61-65, C-
56-60, D 50-55, F 00-49.
Homework:
Homework assignments will be given regularly, approximately once per
week. The assignments and solutions will be posted here.
Calculator:
Calculators are allowed on the tests and are useful, however one must
show all work on quizzes and exams for credit.
