Exam page for details.

with the sample exams.
- (Apr. 26) I have added some additional explanation and examples of partial
fraction decompositions for Unit 10.
- (Apr. 9) Midterm Exam review: It is a good idea
from both educational and grading standpoints to review your midterm exams carefully,
so that you can understand what errors you made and also make sure you received the
correct score. Remember that problems similar to these may appear on the final exam.
You may pick up and discuss your exams with one of the course TA's during their office hours. Make sure that you
leave enough time to look over the exams. If you have any questions about the grading,
be sure to ask them about it right away. If you decide you want to appeal the grading
on an exam, leave the exam and a note with the TA, and he will forward it to me.
Note: After you take an exam with you, I will not consider any grade appeals
later for you on that exam. So get your questions answered right away.
- (Feb. 15) Four errors have been discovered on Unit 4. See the List
of Errors page for details.
- (Feb. 6) One error has been found in the Unit 3 exam and homework. See the List of Errors page for details.
- Important notice: I found some misprints
on the Detailed Schedule, so be sure to print out a new

5, and 6, and Midterm #1, have all been moved up one week. Units 2 and 9 also had
misprinted dates.
- (Apr. 24) Please fill out a course evaluation. Since
we don't have any class meetings, you can fill this out online. Thanks!

- (Feb. 9) Classes have been cancelled again today (Friday), so the Math Computer
Lab may not be open, or may only be open for certain hours (you can call the lab
at 294-6896 to check if the lab consultant is in). Thus, I am extending
the deadline for Unit 3 to Sunday, Feb. 11. Also, if you have already taken
the exam, you may repeat it on Sunday if you wish. The lab will be open from 1-11
pm on Sunday. Note, however, that this means the deadline for unit 4 will come up
quickly (next Friday), so I suggest that you use this break to get started with the
unit 4 material if you haven't already.

packages that you can purchase. New packages include the textbook, Student Solutions
Manual, CD-ROM (Windows format), and Schaum's Precalculus Outline. You can also buy
used packages (probably at Campus Bookstore) which do not have the Schaum's Outline.
Either is OK for the course. Also, if you have a Macintosh computer, you can go to
the Math Computer Lab (449 Carver) and exchange the Windows CD-ROM for a Macintosh
version.
- (Jan. 5) Informational meetings: There will be informational meetings
about the course during the first week of classes. The schedule is given below. Please
read the material on this web site first, and then come to one of the meetings. The
main purpose of the meetings is for you to get an overview of the course, practice
using the testing system, allow you to ask questions about the course, and hear answers
to other students' questions that may not have occurred to you. While attendance
is not mandatory, it is certainly advisable and should help you avoid some difficulties
that might arise.
