REQUIRED WORK

Your course grade will be determined from (percentages subject to adjustment):
  • [10%] Daily class participation. You will be called on to to present solutions to homework problems on the blackboard.
  • [40%] Quizzes. At each Friday class meeting, a 20-minute quiz will be given. Your best 11 scores on the 15 quizzes count toward this part of your grade. There are no make-ups. Quiz problems may address anything covered up to the third preceding class day.
  • [30%] Written problem solutions and oral reports. About a dozen more challenging problems from the textbook will be assigned during the term. Working in small teams you will write up the solutions and present the results in class.
  • [20%] Exams. There will be a two-hour Departmental Final Exam.

  • Solve the homework problems, prepare to present your solutions on the board in class.
