REQUIRED WORK

• [10%] Daily class participation. You will be called on to present solutions to practice problems on the blackboard.
• [40%] Quizzes. At each Friday class meeting, a 20-minute quiz will be given. Your best 10 scores on the 14 quizzes comprise this part of your grade. There are no make-ups. Quiz problems may address anything covered by the preceding Tuesday.
• [20%] Written homework. About ten weekly homework problems from the textbook will be assigned. You will work in small teams to will solve them and write up the solutions.
• [30%] Exams. There will be a ninety-minute Departmental Midterm Exam and a two-hour Departmental Final Exam.

To prepare for class each day:

• Read the assigned section(s) in the text.
• Solve the practice problems; prepare to present your solutions on the board in class.
